Polish spring 1985 C3 site, she thought (but spring expedition said 5600m)
High point at 6200m traverse to West Ridge.
Very deep snow made central ridge/pillar very different from spring 1985 as described by Polish expedition of that season not climbing but wading. Spring expedition fixed ropes 1 meter under snow. Turned back because of deep snow on 12 Nov. Had hoped to make alpine-style climb and move quickly but snow conditions made this impossible. Had many avalanches to left of their route and stones falling across route in its traverse towards West Ridge.
