The expedition shared the permit with Russian Alex Bolotov and Romanian Alex Gavan, but they were independent team. Our Polish team consisted of beginners on 8000m young people who should be able to fix ropes themselves and not use oxygen. He was national team organized by Polish Alpine Association. The monsoon stopped late on 19 Sept so all climbing progress was late. In October high winds did not allow a successful summit push.

On 16th of October, the 3-man team led by Artur Hajzer with Temba and Tenzing climbed from C4 to 8250m. There Tenzing was beginning to contract frostbite, so Hajzer decided to retreat. On the way down that Temba fell from 7900m to 6700m to his death. The reason of the fall was due to exhaustion: the team spent too much time in the cold last camp waiting for a good weather window with Temba having certainly lost too much of his energy during that time.
