Summiters saw flags at top and Everest from top: 10:30 [Antoni?] and 2 Sherpas, 11:30 Netzer, Heller 12:15, Barsch-Gollnau 1:30pm with Becker.

Second group intended to make summit bid, but needed to bring down Held, who had been in 1st summit party but not to top. Held to C3.

Welkisch also in 1st party, turned back at 7500m at 6:00 am with frostbitten fingers, down to C2 alone; Sippel up to C2 13 May and met him in tent, then was Ok. Sippel spent night there with Antoni. Welkisch went to C1 with 3 members, was exhausted. 3 teammates tried to give him oral medication but he was now unconscious and he died in half hour. Death was caused by swift onset of fatal cerebral edema. Buried in crevasse at 6900m with family's agreement.

13th very cold and constant winds these days. Becker's finger got frostbitten while coming for Held, taking off gloves to give injections.
