Deposit before glacier
C2 at bottom of SW Ridge
High point on W Face.

Very bad rock above C1, no belays on first line attempted and changed line slightly, fixed ropes and made C2. 14 Oct Dolinsek left C3 alone for summit from C3 despite advice no one should go alone. At 6750m he radioed he was having trouble with ice screws and was in fog. Next day could see a man had fallen (traces of gear). Waited 2 days in C1 for him to return but he did not reappear and no idea where his body is. There was lot of falling seracs at this time. Think he fell 1000m into crevasse.

Fixed 500m rope from Machhapuchare BC to expedition's BC.
