KATHMANDU: A Malaysian climber has been found dead near camp II on Mt Ama Dablam (6,812 m) in the Mt Everest region, the expedition organiser said.

According to Bodhraj Bhandari, Managing Director at Snowy Horizon Treks, a team of Sherpa rescuers recovered the body of Raman Nair Hachoodan, 41, who went missing from 6300m since May 15.

“His body was recovered from a gorge at around 5300m,” he said. According to rescuers, the climber fell some 1000m down from the high camp after he along with two other climbers were returning to the lower camps while abandoning his summit bid due to bad weather.
