Hidalgo left C2 at 8 pm on 26 May. He reached C3 site at 2:30 am. He rested in a tent for 2-1/2 hours and continued at 5 am, but after about half an hour he got too cold and decided to turn back. He was not using oxygen. He descended to C2, where he rested for a while and then continued to C1, where he arrived at 3 pm.

28 May he dismantled his tent and descended to ABC; left ABC 29 May and left BC the next day.
