C4 on SW Ridge.
Ridge very steep rock much snow some ice, very long; 50 rock pitons used; 3 km rope fixed and that not enough; fixed rope from C1 upwards. Easy from C4 to top but very steep above C3 and biv needed ("bivouac site eagle's house").
Sherpa fell, not hurt but left expedition; sirdar also had fall; during descent from summit Shin, Song and Yoon fell 100m, but not injured.
Found Canada fixed rope at 5500m.
