From Ascent Himalayas Expedition Report:

Climbers Hakon Asvang, Mats Olav Steinsland departed base camp to join Une [Prestholt] and Dan [Akerman] at C2 on 11th May on their summit push. Tommy decided to take some extra rest days in base camp and wait for the second weather window from the 19th May before attempting the summit.

Dan left C2 on the Thursday 12th May and climbed up the Lhotse face and spent the night at C3 (7300m) along with Furtemba Sherpa and Tsering Pemba Sherpa. Unfortunately Une wasn't feeling very well at C2, and decided to cancel her Expedition due to personal health problems. She was evacuated by helicopter from C2 on 13th May and has since made a full recovery. She is planning to attempt Everest again next year.

On Friday 13th May, Dan, Furtemba and Tsering climbed over the Geneva Spur and reached C4 at 7950m around midday. Meanwhile Hakon, Mats, Nima Gyaljen Sherpa and Chiring Bhote Sherpa climbed to C3 to spend the night.

Dan, Furtemba and Tsering left C4 at the South Col that night (Friday 13th May). There were high winds and deep snow, along the way. They were the only team to leave for the summit that evening and were lucky enough to be standing on the summit of Mount Everest at approximately 05:40 am on Saturday 14th May. I was delighted to hear that they had the route and summit to themselves. Great planning and team work by Mingma Tsiri Sherpa and all the Sherpas at Ascent Himalayas.

With good news coming from the first summit party, Hakon and Mats were heading towards C4 on Sat the 14th May and planning to leave for the summit that evening along with Nima Gyaljen sherpa and Chhiring Bhote Sherpa. The weather conditions were good and they reached the summit of Mount Everest at 06.30am on Sunday 15th May.

While our first and second summit teams were descending Everest and returning to Base camp, Tommy Steinsland was making his way up the mountain with Dawa Tashi Sherpa and Tsering Pande Sherpa. Tommy, Dawa Tashi and Tsering Pande made the summit on Thursday 19th May at 06:45 am.
