On 29 April the team reached Chhukung base camp. They climbed Chhukung Ri, Chhukung Tse, Amphu Laptsa and some smaller peaks on the other side. They slept at about 6000m on the peaks to acclimatize. However, even though the conditions on the route were good, the weather did not allow them to climb as they would have needed a good weather period of at least two weeks.
