2 days beyond Lete on route to BC at 5000m, where same places are dangerous, 15 of 30 porters decided to go back. On 3rd and 4th days had bad hailstorms and porters asking for snow clothes, which team did not have or go back. BC route still difficult on ice where would have to cut steps in ice and porters. Should have hired porters from Lete who are experienced; porters were from KTM.

Team had very limited funds, so expeditions abandoned. Planned to climb Annapurna, but went trekking instead. All members well.
