On 25 April when the earthquake hit, the team was carrying material towards C1. They were at about 6000m, when the earth started shaking. They immediately noticed it was a quake and even though they were worried about the seracs hanging over ABC, they descended to ABC.
When the decision was taken to close Tibet for climbing, they left ABC on 27 April and descended to CBC.
