The team was one of the last to go to BC. Their plan was to attempt Lobuche East to acclimatize and used Lobuche Lodge as their base for this climb without Sherpa help. But they arrived there on the day of the earthquake, 25 April, so they did no climbing on Lobuche East or Everest. On the 27th they walked back to Everest BC to pack up all their belongings at a BC that had been devastated, and went on to Pangboche. On 1 May they flew by helicopter to Lukla, flew by plane to Biratnagar, and from there to Kathmandu on the same day.
