Lee was in the Icefall when the avalanche happened. He was just below C1, but was unhurt. However, when he helped carry a person down to BC, he tore a muscle in his chest. They descended to BC and decided to abandon the expedition after it became clear that the Icefall doctors were not going to refix the Icefall.
