Kenyon, Merriman, Smith, Phurba Ongel and Phurba Wangchu started their summit bid from C3 at 22:15 hrs/NST on 24 May. Kenyon turned around from about 8400m due to tiredness. Smith got to the top at 08:00 hrs on 25 May and Merriman at 09:25 hours. Smith stayed on summit about 30 minutes and Merriman for about 15 minutes. Smith reached C3 at 12 noon and Merriman at 15:00 hours. Next day both climbers and Sherpas went down to C1 and following day to ABC. There were 4-5 climbers on the summit ahead of Smith team and behind them many other climbers. Smith estimates that about 40 climbers summited on that day.
Jeremy Beesley did not join the expedition; he did not come to Nepal.
Mark Cadman spent night at C2 on 24 May; he suffered from diarrhea.
Angus Caithness spent night at C1 on 23 May; he too suffered from diarrhea.
