Tortladze climbed by himself with no teammates and no Sherpas to share the tasks of setting up tents, cooking, etc. He reached BC on 9 September, made his C1 on 14 September and went down to BC on the 15th. He returned to C1 on the 17th, pitched C2 on the 18th and again returned to BC to rest on the 19th.

Now there was a period of bad weather with snowfall and wind. He was able to go back up to C1 on the 24th and to C2 on the 25th. He then made his C3 on 26 September.

But now he was suffering from an allergic reactions to some food he had just eaten. He was covered with small spots that itched. So down to BC on the 27th. He stayed briefly at BC, then decided to give up the climb, and by 1 October he was back in Nyalam on the road to Kathmandu.
