Brice's planning included an early arrival at BC to give his team plenty of time to acclimatize and get in position to go for the top when the monsoon weather was not a problem. They arrived at BC when they wanted to, on 2 September, and left when they wanted to, on 27 and 28 September. They had perfect weather while they were on the mountain except for one day, 20 September, when it rained. Their helicopter arrival and departure flights operated on their chosen dates -- and they got back to Kathmandu 10 days early.

Brice attributes his team's success in putting all members on the summit, having no injuries and having no members' early departures, to their having arrived at BC early.

After acclimatization (going up to a new camp, descending at increasingly higher altitudes), the entire team of 17 members and 13 climbing Sherpas, plus a female Sherpa, Yangji from Khumjung, started their push for the summit from BC to C1 on 21 September, moved up to C2 on the 22nd, to C3 on the 23rd, established C4 on the 24th and summited on the 25th.

All of them left C4 for the top at 3:00 am on 25 September. They were on the summit between 8:00 and 9:11 am, and all except Sasaki descended all the way to BC between 4:00 and 7:00 pm. The elderly Sasaki, 63 years old, preferred to stop off at C1 for the night and joined the team at BC on the 26th.

Oxygen was used by all members and Sherpas. The members used it from C3 to the top and down to wherever their supply ran out or they no longer wanted it. The Sherpas followed the same pattern except they started on it in C4.
