Team left C2 at 2 am. The weather was warm and windless. On their way up, Ballinger, Namgyal and Pasang Bhote fixed the entire line from C2 to summit and used about 800m of rope. Lhakpa Rita (from the Alpine Ascents team) fixed with them to just above the Yellow Band and then descended to C2 to meet his group.

They spent about 40 minutes on the summit and saw Everest. They descended on skies to C1 and then continued by foot to ABC, where they arrived at 8:30 pm.

They skied a line far left of the climbing line and were able to ski through the Yellow Band without rappel, and direct into C2 (not passing C3). They also skied the icefall between C1 and C2, which Ballinger said was quite easy this year.

Taken and used from C2 to summit to C2 by members (4 litres flow rate) and
Sherpas (2 litres flow rate)
