The expedition planned to go to summit on 5 October. Accordingly, Lhakpa and Phurbu pitched C4 on 24 September at 7400m. On 3 October James, Jennick, McMannus, Peacock and Svavarsdottir were at C3. Same day a big serac collapsed at 6600m. Then they went down to BC.

Next attempt was for 10 October to summit and on 9 October Jennick and Peacock climbed up to 7100m. They found that the fixed ropes were frozen under ice and they could not break the ice. Then they quit expedition; frustrating is what Peacock said.

High point for James and Svavarsdottir was 7000m.

Brittleton joined expedition arriving BC on 18 September. Brittleton and Cornfield left expedition on 21 September due to home sickness.

On 25 September, one of the members of the Peacock team saw the collapsing of a snow bridge on which Phil Crampton was walking and fell 10 meters into crevasse. The member called Peacock who was ahead of him. Peacock, his member and three Himex Sherpas pulled Crampton out of crevasse.
