Four members and three Sherpas of the expedition "From 0 to 8848m" left C4 at 8 pm of 19 May. Leader Kim and co-climber Seo were without supplementary oxygen. Team member Jeon got to the top at 6:50 am on 20th May, An at 8 am, Kim at 9 am and Seo at 11:15 am. Each member stayed on summit for 5 minutes. Back to C4 Kim at 4:40 pm, An and Jeon 7 pm and Seo at 10:30 pm. An who is sharing tent with Seo realized that Seo was not feeling well and also not sleeping. An offered him to use oxygen but he refused to take it. Early morning around 5 am, An called Kim who was sleeping in another tent saying Seo is not feeling well. Kim immediately went to Seo's tent and found him unconscious. Kim tried all what he could do until 12 noon to bring Seo back to life, but he was not responding. Kim asked for help from Oh, another Korean climber on Lhotse with two Sherpas; they and 9 other Sherpas of Seven Summit Treks came up and took the body of Seo to C2 on 21 May before midnight. Kim and two members went down to C3 and on 22 May to BC. Seo's body was brought to BC on 23 May, then to Kathmandu by helicopter. The body was cremated at Swayambhu on 26 May in the presence of Seo's mother, younger brother and relatives.

The expedition "From 0 to 8848" two members Kim and Seo started kayaking 156 km from Bakkhali, Ganga river at 0m (Indian Ocean) to Kolkata the altitude of 8m. From Kolkata same two members reached Tumlingtar (448m) Nepal, cycling 893 km passing through Berhampore (24m) Dalkhola, Ganges River (20m) and Bagdogra (Siliguri) Darjeeling, Biratnagar, Dharan. They entered Nepal via Kakarbhita on 30 March. All the way up from Indian Ocean, member Jeon followed the two members as surface coordinator. Two other members accompanied by camera crew flew from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar.

Note: Seok, Yoon and Han were climbing separately as a different team. Only Seok summited.
