From the 27th of April Bowie got chest infection which lasted the entire expedition duration. Thus he went a few days in Yangla Kharka to recover staying 4 nights (from the 6th to the 7th), then he came back on the 8 May at BC, then slept 2 nights in ABC (10 & 11th of May), slept at C1 on the 12th, slept at C2 for 2 nights (13th and 14th of May, GPS showing 6666m exactly).

On the 15th of May he reached nearby the Makalu La (at 7300m) in strong wind conditions, then went back to the ABC that same day, On the 16th of May he decided to abandon the climb due to continuous chest infection.
