Although there were 12 members on the team, nine of them did not plan to climb above C3 (7000m); only three of them intended to go to the top. They were Fila, Hyrylainen and Pontinen, and all three succeeded. [The others were on the Lhotse permit to gain access to the Western Cwm for a training climb on the W Face of Lhotse.]

C4 was established on 18 May at 7800m by Hyrylainen, Pontinen, Sherpas Lhakpa and Pasang. They left camp for the top at 1:00 am on the 19th. Hyrylainen and Lhakpa reached the summit at 6:00 am, while Pontinen and Pasang summited at 7:30 am. They descended to C2 at 3:30 pm.

On the 22nd, Fila and Karma Gyalje left C4 at 1:00 am, were on the top at 6:45 am and went down to C2 at noon.

The members used oxygen from C3 to the summit to C3; their Sherpas used it from Lhotse's C4 to the summit and back to Lhotse's C4.
