On 18 May Zhang helped to bring the sick Taiwanese climber Lee, who later died, a little bit further down to the lower tents. He helped move him for about 25 meters, which took about 2 hours.

Summit team left C4 at 10:30 pm on 18 May. Good weather, no wind. Straightforward climb. They spent about 15 minutes on the summit and descended to C2, where they arrived at 5 pm. On 20 May they descended to BC.

Bai reached C2 on 27 April and 15 May. He stayed there for two nights, but he knew he was too slow to go to the summit. He descended to BC on 17 May and left BC on 18 May.
