BC at 15 kms north of Nangpa La (normal site from truck)
Biv1 towards Nangpa La.
No fixed camps on Cho Oyu. 21st started up from BC & 6 to top. Started in 3 groups on 3 successive days carrying everything with them. 1st group of 3 went all the way to top from start of 26th May from BC. 2nd group of 9: 8 including Haerter reached 7700m & back in wind on 31st May. 3rd group of 4 from BC 28th May & 3 to top. 5th May all in BC & left BC 6th May. Route really not technically difficult although slightly more so than Xixabangma. 4 members left 31st & 3 on 2 June out of boredom.
Team had acclimatized on Xixabangma.
