The Singha Roy team left C3 with three Sherpas at 10:45 pm on 22 May. Mukherjee was too slow, so decided to turn around from 7600m with Dawa Wangchuk Sherpa to C3. Two members and Sherpas continued and reached 8050m at 3 pm on 23 May. But suddenly one of the Sherpa of Spanish team (Keshab) and Juanjo Gara (Spanish member) who was leading at that time for summit, slipped and rolled down and arrested themselves 100m below. Seeing this accident and also the time the team already had spent for summit bid, the team (leader, Biswas, Pemba Chhuti and Pasang) took the decision to return. After 4-5 hours of descent their supplementary oxygen exhausted; for this reason Singha Roy could not continue their descent. He had to stop an altitude 7800/7900m in open air and Pemba and Biswas was able to go down to Japanese tent next morning 7600m (put up by Japanese lady). Pasang stayed at some safe place below Singha Roy. On 24 May morning Dawa Wangchuk came up from C3 and assisted Singha Roy to go down giving him supplementary oxygen and they came down to Japanese camp in the evening. Next day 25 May Singha Roy reached C3 with Dawa and then heli-lifted to BC then to Kathmandu. Biswas, Mukherjee and two Sherpas rescued from C1 (5800m) to BC by helicopter on 26 May then to Pokhara.

Weather conditions on summit day 23 May was good, but with high-speed gusts occasionally during day time. No snowfall on the summit day.

Oxygen: 3 members used oxygen from C3 to 8050m and back. Only Pemba used oxygen from C3 to summit approach.
