Razavi-Mehr intended to climb solo for his first attempt on the mountain. Without any previous mountaineering experience and an obvious lack of discernment, his attempts never reached further than the beginning of the icefall. Worse on the 27th of April, Razavi-Mehr believed to contract minor signs of altitude sickness; that evening late he asked for an helicopter rescue, which he obtained the day after.

During his interview, Razavi-Mehr argued he would only answer the question if success. He added that his reputatiaon didn't allow him answer in the opposite case. Razavi-Mehr should be back next year.
