The fatal avalanche path on 23 September was the same path as that of an earlier one before the teams arrived. Furthermore, the event of the 23rd occured after new snow had accumulated. If the affected teams had been alert to this, they would have placed their tents at C3 200 meters to the right and been in a safer location. But in any case, they should not have been up there with that amount of snow on the mountain.

This team in their acclimatization program visited C2 site on 14 September, but did not sleep there then. They returned to BC the next day. During the next days, a lot of snow fell, so they stayed in BC. They started up for the summit from BC on 26 September.

The summit was reached on 30 September by nine members and 11 Sherpas: Friedrich, Gomi, Hasler, Ishikawa, Kobayashi, Saito, Smets, Tamura and Woodward, plus Sherpas Gyalzen Dorje, Lhakpa Nuru, Nawang Tenzing, Nima Tenzing, Pasang Nima, Phura Cheten, Phurba Tashi, Rita Dorje, Son Dorje, Tshering Tashi and Urkien Lendu.

Non-summiting members:

Brice as his policy, he remained at BC throughout the climb.

Franck reached C2 on 13 September with the other members, but was not acclimatizing and went no higher.

Motoike got to C2 on 13 September, but was not acclimatizing and did not go above it.

Oxygen was used by the members from C3 to the summit down to wherever their supplies ran out. Their Sherpas used it in C4 to the top, and most of them stopped using it at C3.
