On 21 September Suzuki climbed to 6700m to acclimatize and descended to C2 the same day. He stayed in C2 on the 22nd, but retreated to BC on the 23rd because of the fatal avalanche early that morning.

On the 29th his plan was to the summit from C2 and to return to that camp later in the day. But he turned around at 8015m. He was not on oxygen, and he was "just too tired to go higher." He stayed in C2 on the 30th and was back in BC on the 1st of October. His climb was finished.
