A total of three members were on a Lhotse permit, Peter Ford, Ms. Kerrie McMartin and Moniz, but Moniz was the only one to actually try for the summit. McMartin went only as far as C2 about 8 May, was too tired to go any higher and went home. Ford got to C3 about 17 May, but the ropes had not been fixed all the way to the top; he had no time to wait and left the team on 19 May.
