The first summit bid was launched from C4 on 19 May, the day C4 was first occupied. Nine members (all members except Neefjes, who had left the team) set out from C4 at 7:30 pm, but turned back from various altitudes because of the bad weather.

Four of the members tried again: Camkin, Kedrowski, Leduc and Maybank, with Sherpas Ang Pasang, Chhewang Karma, Jangbu and Lhakpa Gelu left C4 for the top at 7:30 pm on the 25th. All of them reached the summit morning: Kedrowski and Jangbu summited on 26 May at 3:30 am, while the rest of the party were on the top at 5:30 am.

Camkin descended to C3 only and arrived there at 6:00 pm, but Jangbu continued down to C2, and all the other summiters also went to C2 that afternoon between 1:00 pm (Kedrowski) and 4:00 pm (Leduc). All were back in BC on the 27th.

Non-summiting members:

Arnold reached the Balcony (8500m) on 20 May, then the weather became "terrible" and he got involved in rescue work.

Coster summited Lhotse instead.

Jaeggi got to 8600m on 20 May, then retreated because of the bad weather.
