The team reached C4 on 24 May, but the 25th was too windy and route to the top too crowded, so they stayed an extra day at C4. "One good aspect of the wait was we knew we had the mountain to ourselves." They left camp for the top at midnight of the 25/26th. All four members and three Sherpas arrived at the summit at 9:30 am of the 26th on a calm, sunny, clear morning. They descended for the night to C2, where they returned at 7:00 pm. They were back in BC on the 27th.

The members used oxygen in C3 to the top to C3 or where their supply ran out.

Hahn described the great line of people heading up to the summit on the 25th as "frightening from the point of view of a leader - it takes away the ability to lead.. It's really dangerous." He watched people who clearly had never before walked on rock with crampons on their boots.

"Also there's a problem of so much stuff left on the summit. It's surprising no has tripped over it and fallen down the Kangshung Face. It's terrible."

Why does he keep returning after he has made so many ascents? He shrugs while conceding that "there are too many reasons this is not mountain climbing any more -- but why not keep going?"
