Leader of the expedition Rana Bahadur Tamang along with Nima Dorje Tamang went up to C2 on 9 May planning to touch C3 for acclimatization. At C2 Rana Bahadur suffered from cough and respiratory problem and also became very weak. They spent two nights 9 & 10 May at C2 and descended to BC. Rana Bahadur could not recover until the day of summit push which was 14-15 May and on 16 May he decided to abandon the climb. However, Rana Bahadur's climbing Sherpas continued for summit and Nima Dorje Tamang got to the summit on 17 May at 10 am. He descended to C4 around 7 pm. Next day he came down to BC.

Kami Nuru got stomach problem at 8400m; he did not go to the summit.

Rana Bahadur took helicopter from Gorak Shep to Lukla and got back to Kathmandu on 23 May.
