Hibbert made 4 attempts to get to North Col, but he was too weak and hypoxic. He had trouble eating all the way through the expedition. When he finally got there, he slept well and was Ok. However, due to feeling so weak due to lack of food, he abandoned his climb. On 22 May he descended to ABC.
