The entire team consisted of two members, Alex Bijlsma and his wife Antonia Nahuys, plus Dawa Sherpa and two Tamang brothers, Norbu and Pemba, who had gone to the mountain with two Austrians led by Rudi Mayr. Norbu and Pemba climbed with the Austrians to their high point, C3, and when they descended to BC, they went down with them. The Austrians left on the 19th, Norbu and Pemba climbed up to the Dutch C3 on the 20th and summited with them the next day.

The five climbers left C3 for the summit on 21 May at 3:45 am and gained the top together at 10:45 am in clear but windy weather. They returned to C3 at about 2:00 pm and were back in BC on the 22nd.
