The expedition enjoyed good weather all the time they were on the mountain and "great weather for the summit" on their summit day.

The summit party consisted of four members, Anderson, Griffiths, Nevile and Pennington and five Sherpas, Dawa Wangchuk, Funuru, Lhakpa Dorje, Lhakpa Ongyal and Ngima. They set out for the top on 16 May at 9:30 pm. At 7:00 am on the 17th, Griffiths turned back at 8170m because he was very tired, and Lhakpa Dorje went down with him to C3.

All the others in the party continued to the summit and arrived there at 11:00 am on 17 May. They descended to C4 at 4:00 pm and were down in BC the next day.

Other non-summiting members:

Anson climbed to 7000m on about 3 May; there his heart was beating too rapidly, and he returned to BC the same day.

Campbell got to 7300m on 4 May, then a respiratory infection sent him to BC the same day.

Rutland went to 7200m on 15 May, then he too succumbed to a respiratory infection.

All the members in the summit party, and also Campbell and Rutland, used oxygen from C2 to their high points to and in C3. The Sherpas used it from C4 to their high points to C4.
