After establishing BC on 1 April, the expedition went to Lobuche for an acclimatization climb. All members and half of the 55-strong Sherpa team summited on 15 April. They went back to Everest BC the next day.

The members went to the summit in three groups, but first, two of their Sherpas participated in the final rope-fixing effort and reached the summit on 5 May. Karma Gelgen and Phu Tshering left C2 at 00:20 hours on the 5th, left C4 at 6:38 am and worked their way to the summit at 4:00 pm. They spent that night back in C4.

The first summit group left C4 on 12 May at 8:30 pm. These members were Bunce, Elrod, Grotli, Hamill, Matty, Rindahl and Schlimme. With them were Sherpas Kalden Phura, Kancha Nuru (Pangboche), Karma Rita, Pasang Nuru, Phinjo Dorje and Sanduk Dorje Tamang.

Schlimme got as high as the Balcony at 8500m on the 13th, but was too tired to continue the ascent. He turned back and Karma Rita accompanied him in his descent to BC. All the other members and Sherpas continued up to the summit, which they reached between 6:40 am (Matty) and 7:20 am (Grotli). All members (except Bunce who stopped in C4) descended to C2. Bunce got back to his tent at 1:30 pm; the others reached C2 between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm.

The second party, Austin, Derby, Gottfurcht, Maison, Pastor and Zaitzeff, plus Sherpas Da Nuru, Danuru, Dorje Lama, Kancha Nuru (Phortse), Nima Karma and Phu Tashi, left C4 at 8:30 pm on the 13th.

Maison got all the way to the South Summit on 14 May, but then turned back because he was extremely tired; Dorje Lama retreated with him. The rest of the party went to the main summit on the 14th between 4:35 am (Pastor) and 6:18 pm (Gottfurcht). All went down to C2, where they arrived between 3:00 pm and 9:00 pm.

The last party started from C4 on the 20th at 9:00 pm. They were Arnette, Mirjam Beaudoin, Gomez, Jovine, Mella, Millard, Reckord and Weiner, and Sherpas Ang Chhiring, Karma Rita (who had come back up the mountain after escorting Schlimme down to BC), Mingma Dorje, Mingma Tenzing, another Mingma Tenzing, Nima Nuru, Panuru, Pasang Rinji and Pasang Yila.

Jovine and Reckord stopped at the Balcony; they were too tired to continue; Nima Nuru descended with Jovine; Reckord, who was the leader for IMG's Lhotse team, went down by himself. The rest of the climbers reached the summit between 4:30 am (Mirjam Beaudoin) and 8:20 am (Weiner). All descended to C2 where they arrived from 12:30 pm to 9:00 pm.

Other non-summiting members:

Jay Beaudoin climbed up to C3 on 28 April, then ran out the energy.

Bemis got to C2 on 28 April, then had no energy to continue.

Eubank lost motivation when he got to C3 and went no farther.

Hitch approached C3 on 1 May, then collapsed and died [probable heart attack].

Merle (deputy leader) was with Bemis when he got to C2 and turned around with him.

Soto reached C2 on 26 April, then was too tired to continue.

Vernovage leader stayed in C2 to direct this big expedition of 28 members and 55 climbing Sherpa.

Oxygen was used by all members who made summit bids in C3 to their high points to C2. The Sherpas were on it in C4 to their high points to C4.

The only health problem was Austin's seriously frostbitten fingertips. They became frostbitten on his summit day, but he is not expected to lose any tips.

Hello,

My name is Mirjam Beaudoin (Germany) and I summited Mt. Everest (South) on May 21st, 2011 as listed in your database. I was very happy to see my name on your list! Thank you for updating the 2011 season.

However, the summit time is not quite correct. I summited with Mingma Tenzing Sherpa (Phortse, Nepal) prior 5:00 am and before Alan Arnette and Karim Mella.

I know this is only a minor correction, however I know that there was another woman from Germany summiting from the north side and I just would like to make sure that my summit time is correct and that I am the fourth Germany woman to successfully summit Mt. Everest.

I would appreciate the update to show the correct sequence of Everest ascents on May 21st, 2011.
