Only two members and one Sherpa, Diel, Piper and Pasang Nuru, on 28 September occupied C2, which had been set up previously, but not slept in, and they actually went there to disassemble the camp and bring it and C1 down off the mountain. The two members climbed 50m above the camp to have a look at the bad snow conditions, reports of which had caused the decision the day before to abandon the attempt to scale Cho Oyu.
