The team consisted of two American members and two Sherpas (on the same permit were two Britons who were with the Gurkhas, but they climbed separately).

Rawski was already in Khumbu climbing Pumori with a Norwegian-led expedition (Gunnar Sund) when Cue landed at Lukla on 17 November. She went to Pumori BC and then acclimatized on Pumori to 5800m on Rawksi's team's route and then trekked to Pangboche, where the members and Sherpas met and from where they climbed directly to C1 on Ama Dablam on the 19th.

They moved very quickly: they went to C2 on the 20th, directly to the top on the 21st, occupied C2.8 the night of the 21st, and on the 22nd they descended to the site of occassional base camps at Mingbo.

On the summit day, 21 November, the four climbers left C2 at 2:00 am on a day that became very windy (80km/hr) and the climbed on windswept blue ice to the top at 4:00 pm. They descended to their tent, which the Sherpas had pitched at C2.8 site on the way up. They arrived at C2.8 at 6 pm in the dark. (Cue had left her headlamp in C2, but the others had lamps). They found two Iranians already in their tent: six people were crowded in the tent that night.

On the 23rd the Americans were in Namche Bazar and the next day at Lukla, where they had to spend two nights because bad weather closed the airfield the day after they arrived. So back to Kathmandu on the 26th and Cue was in her office on the 27th.
