From ABC on 28 September Nakajima and Takeuchi moved up to C1, on the 29th up to C2. At midnight of 29/30 September they set out for the summit.

At 7:00 am (NST) on the 30th they got to 7700m, when ice blocks in avalanche debris were threatening to come down. They retreated all the way to ABC, where they arrived at 7:07 pm, and abandoned their climb because of the very bad snow conditions including avalanche danger.
