On 16 May while climbing up Quesada was told by Sherpas descending from South Col that there were no fixed ropes. On Lhotse and in the couloir, the snow conditions were icy and it would be dangerous to go up. Then she descended to BC on 17 May. Her target to summit was 23 May. She did not try again.
