BC at Annapurna Sanctuary
High point at couloir in variation of Bonington route.

Much soft snow and snow avalanches daily twice in C2 and C3 areas and more frequent rock falls after 9-10 am but climbed mostly in day time. Early one morning tried couloir to left of Bonington route but each of 4 times minor accident. 3 members fell 50-100m in snow avalanche, lost much equipment (1 km fixed rope and depot of other equipment carried away on 2nd Oct). 11-25 Sept snowfall every day after 10 am. Tried Bonington route ice ridge first but soft snow so went left to couloir where avalanches, so again to Bonington ridge but now members very tired. On ridge route reached 450m on Oct 11th. 8 members only above C1. Sherpas only to C3 ("I don't want to die" from danger above C3). 18th Sept ice hit 1 member's plastic helmet and made big hole. Snow avalanche took away 2 tents a C2 on 2 Oct when it was unoccupied.

Want to come again to same route but arrive in Sept for climbing in October.
