Fica and Guzman reached C2 on 1 Oct, but could not go to C3, and descended to BC due to strong wind and bad snow conditions. On 4 Oct an avalanche destroyed their ABC and lost their climbing gears. Fica and Guzman went up to C2 again on 15 Oct to retrieve their cache but it was not possible to locate due to heavy snow.

Fica said that they worked very hard on the mountain but the dangerous snow conditions and bad weather compelled them to give up the expedition. The team returned to Kathmandu on 23 Oct.
