The team had no fixed base camp or higher camps, but moved their tent with them as they climbed. They were the first team to get above the huge crevasse across the SE Ridge that had turned back earlier expeditions. Lhakpa Rita solved the problem: carrying a rope and a shovel and using an ice axe in each hand, he climbed the upper right side of the crevasse. The upper side was about 20m above the lower side. When he reached the top, he let down the rope and cleared the snow from the upper side.

They reached the summit on 17 October and returned to their high bivouac at 6400m to sleep. The next day they descended to the BC area and continued to Seto Pokhari.
