Richter left BC on 19 April at 4 am and arrived at C1 at 9 am. Just before he reached the upper part of the icefall a huge serac had come down. Fortunately nobody was hurt. When he reached C1 he realized that the icefall was just too dangerous. He left C1 at 7:45 am on 20 April and reached BC at 10:45 am.
I [Billi Bierling] met him at Gorak Shep on 20 April. He was trying to get in touch with Multi-Adventure to organize a return flight to Kathmandu. He wanted to fly back on 29 April after ascending Island Peak again.
