The team was suppose to go to attempt North Ridge of Ama Dablam but went to SW Ridge. Edelstam wrote in his email of 2 Feb that he had bad throat during his entire trip and realized that he would not be fit enough to try the North Ridge. He wrote that Edelstam had rest for six days in Pangboche while Fransson summited Island Peak and later Edelstam summited Island Peak while Fransson was acclimatizing in C1 on Ama Dablam.

Edelstam wrote that he joined Fransson in C1 and moved together to C2. They left C2 at 02:00 hours on 8 Nov in clear weather, slightly windy and cold from C3 upward. They reached summit at 07:00 hours, descended to C2 at 09:00 hours and continued to Pangboche same day. Edelstam and Fransson were the only climbers on the summit on that day, wrote Edelstam. The team returned to Kathmandu on 12 Nov and left on 17 Nov.
