Team in summit bid left C4 at midnight on 25 May. Weather was clear but very windy. They reached 8500m at about 5 am, but turned back as it was too cold for an ascent without oxygen. They descended to C4, dismantled it, then dismantled C2 and arrived at BC at 4 pm.

Joos reached 7500m on 13 May. He turned back as he was not feeling well and he had problems breathing which could be due to heart operation after he suffered from a stroke on Kangchenjunga in 2006. He descended to C2 and to BC on 14 May. On 24 May he ascended to C2 for summit push, but abandoned it again as he had breathing problems. Joos said he will not come back to climb an 8000m peak and he is happy with his 13th.
