Fan, Tsang, Pasang Dawa Sherpa, Lhakpa Chhiring Sherpa left C2 at 23:00 on 30 Sept. Tsang and Lhakpa reached summit at 13:14 on 1 Oct. Descended to C2 at 18:30. Fan turned around from 7900m to C2 with Pasang Dawa due to running out of energy. Tsang wrote in his email that weather was perfect, clear sky on the way up there was mild wind and strong wind at the top. He further wrote that at top there was high visibility and he could see Everest so close. Two climbers, Tsang added, ahead of him on that day were one Spanish "he thinks" and one was Japanese. Only 3 climbers summited on that day along with two Sherpas, one was his own Sherpa and another one was of the Japanese climber. The Spanish was by himself without using oxygen. According to email of Fan, Tsang and Lhakpa stayed on summit for 15 minutes. Also, Fang wrote that they did not sleep at C2 on their summit push, but only had a rest for 5 hours. The team went back to Hong Kong via Lhasa.

Tsang's accident (according to Lhakpa Tshering): He slipped and fell.


Tsang's Fall:

According to Caorminas, member of Spanish Expedicio Cho Oyu Baix 2007 led by Gutierrez, it was around top of the first icefall around 6800m between C2 and C1. Corominas was ascending and was told by his leader that there has been an accident and met the Chinese (Tsang) and some people dragging him down. Corominas gave Tsang pain killer (injection) and suggested the people taking him down to make him to walk with help of Sherpas. Lhakpa Tshering's estimation of 6300m is not correct. How many meters...10-15 meters according to Lhakpa. The cause...Lhakpa said Tsang was tired and that may be the cause of his fall. Corominas heard from other climbers that Tsang was trying to sledge down on the slope and his crampon may have stuck some how and that cause the fall.
