Alpine Ascents Cho Oyu led Eric Larson - 7 Oct 2007

C2 was occupied on 18 Sept, then down to ABC on the 20th to rest. On the 28th nine members and seven Sherpas began a push for the summit. The members were Boni, Bull, Coney, Fisher, Kratsch, Larson, Mosey and Setian; the Sherpas were Ang Norbu, Kami Rita, Phura Kancha, Lhakpa Rita, Dawa Chhiri, Pasang Rita and Tshering Dorje.

On the 28th they went to C1 and on the 29th to C2. During the night of the 29th and the morning of the 30th the winds were so fierce that they shredded five tents at C2. So instead of heading for the top, they descended that day to ABC. Their climb was finished.

Four members left before most members did. Bacon left on the 23rd because he had not acclimatized and was not sleeping at night. Baier and Girard left on the 27th because they were bored waiting for improved weather. Passey had to leave on the 21st because of his stomach ulcer.
