Ang Gyalzen and Woodall on 16 May went out of tent at C2 and straight into storm and down to ABC. 17 and 18 May rested in ABC and 19 May both again up; North Col on 12 May, 20 May at C2, 21 May to First Step bottom. "Huge ascent of snow on face, never seen so much snow on mountain." Took shovels and knew from past years where body [Francys Arsentiev who died in Spring 1998] was and dug her out of 3-1/2 feet of snow, had small ceremony for her, pushed body down North Face, at bottom of which she must now lie. Down to ABC on 21 May and BC 22 May.

Oxygen used by Woodall from 8100m to 8550m to 8300m where ran out; Ang Gyalzen at 8100m to 8550m to 8200m where ran out.
