On 4 May Kolchev, Kolcheva, Totev, Vatev, Tashi Sherpa, Dawa Tenzing Sherpa and the two Tibetans Sherpas Phinzo and Ngawang Dorje left C3 at 01:30 hours. Vatev and Dawa Tenzng reached summit at 09:00 hours; Kolchev, Mrs Kolcheva, Ngawang Dorje, and Phinzo at 10:00 hours; Totev at 11:30 without oxygen. Tashi Tshering summited at 12:15 pm. Climbers stayed on summit between 30-45 minutes. Vatev descended to C2 about 14:00 hours. He took pictures of Everest. Kolchev and Kolcheva descended to C2 at 15:00 hours. Totev descended to C3 spent night there and next day to C1. Kinov turned around from C3 on 3 May as his feet started getting cold. Summit day weather was pretty good but cloudy. When Vatev was on summit there were 6-7 members of German group. There was solo Japanese climber with TV team but he could not summit on that day. The Bulgarian team saw on summit many prayer flags.

The team returned to Kathmandu on 9 May and trying to leave as soon as possible.

Dankov, Krastev and Kinov got to C3 on 3 May. Their goal on the mountain was to ski but there was not enough snow. They descended to C1 on 3 May by foot. Skiing was impossible (information by Kolochev). However, Ang Jangbu of Great Escapes said all three felt unwell at C3 and descended to C1.

Ngawang Dorje and Phinzo are Tibetans. Ang Jangbu does not have any biodata for them. According to the Phil Crampton, Phinzo summited Cho Oyu with SummitClimb (Crampton,leader) on 3 Oct 2006 [most likely different Phinzo].
