Lopez said he left C2 at 00:30 hours (NST) of 1 Oct, reached summit at 07:45 hours, stayed on summit for five minutes (said too many people who are not supposed to be there... did not like to stay any longer), descended to C2, where he had rest for two hours then went down to C1 where he arrived at about 16:00 hours before sunset. Weather was very good calm but cold.

Lopez returned to Kathmandu on 5 October and will leave on 8th.

Lopez while asking about the altitudes of his camps he said that he was there to climb Cho Oyu and not record its altitude. He told me that he had met Miss Hawley many times and she never asked him such questions. And asked me to respect climbers.

The altitudes given in the On Return form are based on Italian climber Svevo Mondino who said that Lopez was with him at C1 and C2 and also went up to C3 almost together. After C3, Mondino did not see Lopez. Lopez did not mention about Mondino at all. Mondino said that when they started from C2, Lopez started vomiting just out side their tent. Mondino said that Lopez was not feeling well because he had vomited several times and he could not eat. In such health condition Mondino thinks it was not possible for Lopez to go to summit. Another Italian climber Sergio Martini said that Lopez started from C2 about an hour before him. Martini while climbing up met Lopez coming down between C2 to C3 and told Martini that he is not going to summit and going down due to vomit and stomach problem. Martini also asked me to check with Mondino who was with Lopez at C2 in the same tent.

The expedition doctor Teofredo Esguerra of Filipino expedition said that Lopez consulted with him complaining his vomiting problem and the doctor gave him Meaoclopramide 10mg tablet to take every 6 hours to stop the vomiting. Lopez complained that the medicine did not work. Upon asking Lopez if he is taking any other medicine, he told the doctor that he he been using Cyclomax; then doctor told him that that was the reason the medicine he had given to Lopez did not work. The doctor gave Lopez an injection of Meaoclopramide (1m) on Oct 5. When Lopez told doctor that he had summited Cho Oyu, the doctor asked him how did he manage to descend? Lopez told him that he had taken Dexamethazone 8 mg on the summit for his descent.
